Obligatory comment about how cold it was today....I wanted to cry every time I had to go outside because no matter how much I bundled, I was still cold. I'm now even more envious of my brothers being where it's warm. Otherwise, it was a good day.
It had a scary start thought. I, for the first time in my life, experienced sleep paralysis. When this happens, you're in a state of being asleep and waking up and in that state, you can hallucinate. For me, I felt someone push down on my bed, lay down next to me, heard them breathe, felt them lay over my face, and then I was finally able to wake up. I felt the whole thing, like someone was really there and while I was aware I was awake, I couldn't wake up. Scared me so bad I immediately jumped up and left the room to start the day. If I told you this in person, it would scare you even more. The middle of the day was uneventful, I got the shoes I ordered (yahoo) had a very...miniscule lunch with little to no options other than pizza, and then went to class. My only class for this month, which I'm really excited about is Writing The American Sitcom. It is what it sounds like, we learn how to write TV sitcoms, which is really exciting because I already know how to write books and movie scripts, but not sitcoms. And our final product will be writing an episode of a current running sitcom, like, writing our own script for what we think a good episode to fit in the show will be. So, to get an idea of how sitcoms work we started out by watching a episode of 30 Rock (which I didn't think was funny at all) and a episode of I Love Lucy (which I love!). The best part was that it was the "Vitameatavegamin" episode and that's my favorite one, it always makes me laugh whenever I see it. So Mack and I are really excited for the class and we think it'll be good practice for us if we ever want to become screenwriters. Plus, it'll be good for the four of us to know if we want to have experience working in different parts of the writing industry. We've already thought of the class teaching us how to turn our book into a sitcom, for practice and it'll be interesting to see. Tomorrow is goign to be VERY cold and I'm glad I don't have class tomorrow or else I would rebel. Personally, I don't understand why they still have classes (when there's a potential for power to go out and for the pipes to freeze) but that's just me. I'll do anything for a day off even if I already have it. ;) Peace, -Jess
