It was SUPER freezing today.
So my sisters and I had to wake up early so we could drive somewhere that was about a half hour away. We had to get up at the pint that it was still very dark outside and when we got going, the sun was really only starting to rise. Or maybe that was my perception of it. Ok, ok. It was only seven in the morning when I got up. But I was tired and had gone to sleep really late last night. (Curse you YouTube videos). Now, did we need all four of us going to drive where we needed to go? No, definitely not. We only needed one, really. But that's what happens when we made CDs of our favorite songs, aka "Car Tunes 1-12". (Besides, Steph needed to know how to get to where we were going, someone needed to hold the GPS, Mere was the one we were dropping off, and I didn't want to be in the apartment alone. I don't particularly like being alone). Anyway, that was all fine and good. We sang along to our favorite songs, dropped Mere off, drove back, and waited to pick her up. So Mere calls and says we can pick her up...but Steph had already taken the car to go on campus. That's ok, though, right? We'll just call her and tell her that Mere was done. Wrong. She left the sound of her phone off and Mack and I just continued to call her. It got to the pint that we did it on purpose, just to see how many calls we could rack up on her phone before she answered. (Me: You're just going to keep hitting re-dial aren't you? Mack: *with evil smile* Yep! (We managed to get about twelve calls in)). Steph gets back, then we all drive back to get Mere, pick her up, and drive back to school. That's there the problem was. It was raining a lot and the temperature dropped. But we got back to school, wanted to get lunch from the dining hall and didn't want to take the car if we were going to either try to rush and eat in thirty minutes (if we got a thirty minute space) or to park in our designated area and walk (which is far away/completely across campus from the dining hall). So we just decided to talk from our apartment. Bad idea. It rained harder, the temperature dropped, the path we take to get on campus was flooded, and I was completely soaked by the time I got to the dining hall. Nothing is worse than being in wet clothes when you're in a very warm room. It is a sick and disgusting feeling, people. Of course I got even more soaked and cold when I got back. But when I got back into the apartment, and I was shivering, I ran to my room, changed into dry clothes, layered myself in three blankets, and squished into a chair with my laptop, in a cocoon, refusing to get up until I was warm. It took a while and I looked ridiculous. Now, a simple thirty minute trip may seem like a regular thirty minute trip to you all. But with the four of us it's a 'road trip' and we laugh and smile just as much on those trips than we do the rest of the day. And trust me, that's a lot. :) Peace, -Jess
